Description:

The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for driving vehicles to and from local vendors, facilitating the maintenance services vendor programs and some minor in-house body repairs in which the volume and quality of work is within the acceptably measured standards that Party Rental Ltd. has put in place.  The Fleet Mechanic will repair, fabricate, or replace damaged parts to factory and dealership specifications. The Fleet Mechanic will also ensure that the repairs will meet or exceed the original factory fit, finish, and image standards of both that of Party Rental Ltd. and lease vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive vehicles back and forth to vendors for repairs or other company needs
  • Perform vehicle road tests to ensure quality repair service is performed
  • Work with vendors on lease vehicle repair work, lease vehicle contract close-out and rental contracts - to be performed off the company premises.
  • Report questionable abuse and unauthorized tampering of equipment to the supervisor for further investigation
  • Record all work and labor in the Fleet Data Base System
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA and company standards
  • Repair, adjust, and align suspension system
  • Assess collisions and determine proper protocol for repair and service procedures
  • Weld and fabricate parts based on damage assessment
  • Perform minor repairs

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English

Experience:

  • Maintain a current Class A or B CDL License 
  • Minimum two years experience required

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule and overtime
  • Candidates must successfully complete a DOT physical in order to obtain a DOT Medical Card, from a company approved physician in order to operate a commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 GVW
  • Candidates must meet the company’s insurability standards based on the type of company vehicle they may drive and successfully complete pre-employment screenings
  • Able to work outside from time to time in inclement weather

Education or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);  
  • Bilingual Spanish and English a plus

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner​​​​and effectively present information and respond to questions

Technical Skills:

  • Basic computer skills

Other Skills:

  • Ability to effectively plan and organize
  • Must be energetic, professional and safety minded at all times
  • Some mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor issues.
